International data transfer
In some cases personal data are transferred to recipients in third countries (see the relevant note in the context of our Privacy Policy). Third countries are countries which are outside the EU and the EEA. The USA is also one of these third countries. The USA does not have a level of data privacy that is comparable to Europe. It is possible in particular that government agencies can access personal data without our knowledge. Legal action may not have a promising outcome.
The legal basis for such a data transfer is in essence your consent (GDPR Art. 49 (1) Sentence 1 (a)) or a respective contractual fulfilment (GDPR Art. 49 (1) Sentence 1 (b)). Wherever possible we conclude EU standard privacy clauses with our service providers.
